Sunday School Teacher Asks Her Students

Some folks seem hard-wired for logical thinking, and some develop it throughout their lifetime. For those born with this no-nonsense view of life, may tend to offer perspectives that catch many adults off-guard. Plus, kids, in general, tend to little if any filters when it comes to speaking their minds. Such is the case in the following joke about a child in a Sunday school class. When the Sunday school teacher asked the child a question, she was expecting your standard answer. But as it turns out, she got a whole lot more than she bargained for.

A teacher was testing the children in her Sunday school class to see if they understood the concept of getting to heaven.

She asked them, “If I sold my house and my car, had a big garage sale and gave all my money to the church, would that get me into Heaven”?

The children answered, “NO!”

“If I cleaned the church every day, mowed the grass, and kept everything neat and tidy, would that get me into Heaven?”

Again, the answer was, “NO!”

By now, the teacher was starting to smile.

“Well, then, if I was kind to animals and gave sweets to all the children, and loved my husband, would that get me into Heaven?”, she asked them again.

Again, they all answered, “NO!”

The teacher was just bursting with pride for them. “Well,” she continued, “Then how can I get into Heaven?”

A five-year-old boy shouted out, “YOU GOTTA BE DEAD!”
